From memory there was mention of a minor tool failure........but no mention of tool damage due to hitting ledges.

Its a actually pretty hard to damage a tool while working a ledge unless you get reckless and use the tool as a battering ram. This isn't how SLB works their way through ledges with the tools on wireline. As soon as the winchman notices cable tension dropping off while RIH he'll stop the tool. If he doesn't manually stop the winch the winch will automatically stop at a pre-set tension drop off value. The winch also stops automatically while coming up at a set tension value. The tool will sit on the ledge with only gravity pushing it onto the ledge. Its not like TLC where you have the weight of the drill string driving the tool down.
