If ledges associated with washed out coals are preventing you getting on station on TLC then it makes more sense to pull up to PA where you're safely above the coals and do your sampling on drill pipe rather than wasting time coming out and then going in on wireline.
Risk of differential sticking of the cable is reduced on TLC but if the sticking is severe then theres still a risk of the actual tool or drill string sticking.
