8-1/2" sidetrack from 9-5/8" casing shoe to 3400mMD, log it and then run 7" liner. If they cased off PA theyd have to drill the sidetrack in 6" hole and running an MDT iin that size hole would be a disaster waiting to happen.



"If being cased later and not prior to sidetracking, then wont the borehole deterioration already manifesting in Pebbly Arkose cause problems even if they lower the mud weight to Upper Angwa equivalent pressures, the damage having already been done enough to stick and damage tools? Or will the section of PA hold together fine hereafter, enough to allow the tool to pass through without drama?"

Because they're not extending the sidetrack below the formation pressure ramp at 3400m they can drill with lower mud weight than they're currently running. This will help alleviate both the differential sticking and hole deterioration issues theyre having
