If resistivity cell and CFA were showing water flowing through the tool flow line then that water must be somewhere in the chamber.

The MRSC chambers have a piston that retracts down the chamber as the sample fills the chamber. There's an option to have an air/water or water cushion behind the piston for some sampling set ups. During the blow down process the piston is pushed back to the top of the chamber thus pushing out all liquids on the sample side of the piston. You can see in the announcement photo that the SLB hand has an air line attached at the bottom end of the chamber in order to push the piston back up to the top of the chamber. At the top end of the chamber is a pressure gauge and hose that runs from the purge port to the plastic separator at right.
