Not sure how they'd get an accurate handle on exactly where the cable was sticking without getting planted and doing a calculation using cable stretch measurements. Usually differential sticking is relatively close to the tool head unless there are obvious dog legs in the hole..which is not the case here.

My understanding of the main reason they were only successful in getting a sample in the PA was because they were above the coals and cable wasn't exposed to the hole while on TLC.
