Thats something Ive been looking into of late. I'm getting conflicting accounts from different people about flying gas samples between Africa and US. The MPSR chambers the samples are in are DOT approved.
The delays however are more likely to have occurred while trying to get the samples out of Zimbabwe. I know getting stuff out of Mozambique involves stuff that would make "Yes Minister" look tame.
