Its a good point brahms, but I suspect the carbon footprint end to end is very different eg. to mine coal, transport, wash, blend, transport to coke for a blast furnace will make HZR graphite a much better, and likely better ironmaking reductant. Add to that coalwash disposal costs and all other mining indirect costs.
So I think relatively very low cost, low emissions HZR H2 and graphite for iron making plus carbon credits by destroying CH4, which is much worse than CO2, will be compelling.
And if this works like we all hope, collocated at a steel works et al, then we have a blockbuster disrupter.
