So even though an award is "considered final", awards can be "annulled or corrected under most rules, based mainly on procedural issues, a lack of arbitrability, a lack of jurisdiction and violations of public policy". That sounds to me like a side can appeal. How else would an award be "annulled or corrected"? You would only annul or correct an award if one side appealed it, right? It wouldn't be annulled or corrected out of thin air?
