If I were the health minister I would be backing this company heavily to the extent that it creates its own branded mRNA drug. I don't want to be beholden to the giant US or European pharmaceutical companies. As a nation we need to own the supply chain in its entirety to prevent the calamity that has been the shit show in Vic particularly. Putting aside vaccination hesitancy, the key reason we are in this mess is supply issues. First and foremost. Owning and manufacturing the drug will give us the power to avoid the catastrophic shut down.
