Opportunistic bidders see the potential, given the limited income opportunities in a market knowing that IFL is finally getting its game together and will return to a reliable decent level dividend payer. How many great assets has Australia lost and who goes back and works out this is why the big fish keep getting bigger and the small fish become extinct. We need to start looking long-term and stop these global behemoths using their huge inflows to buy our assets on the cheap! If the board are confident they can deliver sustainable profits, cashflows and dividends and grow the company, then I'd rather a fully or partially franked dividend on a healthy long term yield than selling out for a capital gain and struggling to find an equivalent! Those of us relying on income need these types of companies to remain, particularly given this is their industry!
