The lower the p value the more significant and less likely it is chance. A higher p value in the case of the placebo means this was more likely due to a random variable than the placebo itself. The sleeper slept on their side....the pillow covered the nasal passages...etc etc. A p value of 0.0067 indicates there is a very low chance that this could be random, therefore it is a very significant result and it highly indicates the drug was the cause of the drop in the index. It validates that our drug has a positive influence and statistically (mathematically) we have been validated.
