I suspect TR5 “prototype” validation will be enough from 4DS on our own. It seems that IMEC are happy for this point to be the point of introduction to buyers.

This I think will also be the point that a development partner will step in ( who will likely be the end buyer). They will test and re-test, re- validate repeatable production, validate yield, and assess compatibility and possible applications with their complimentary technology. This will be in their time and money. Don’t ask me how they structure a sale agreement but whoever buys us will need time to evaluate and validate.

How is a development partner chosen, perhaps this is where the auction takes place .

Has anyone here been through this process with another new tech hitting the market? How is that final step from tech validation at lab level taken to point of sale.

To me it doesn’t make sense for 4DS to validate it past technology readiness level 5. Different potential buyers have different complimentary tech, different products, different markets etc.., they need to validate our tech independently to make sure it works with their own tech. It is not for us to do .

So yes I agree, a bit of a journey still ahead after PL6.
