4DS have been confident PL6 will function and will give them the basic headline metrics of speed, retention and endurance just like PL4 did as soon as they started doing their testing and analysis work on PL5, which we know was intended to essentially have 20nm cells on a 60 nm template.

They are also aware of the shortcomings of the Dory platform, which won't give them the the down to the cell level data they really need to change the valuation of 4DS into a multi billion dollar company.

However, PL6 functioning and giving them solid metrics as per expectation, could entice a couple of companies to swoop early and attempt a hostile takeover before the price gets too high, snap up a bargain so to speak, knowing the hard work is essentially done and the technology is derisked.

So, they had to get on to Infineon and advance a new custom platform as far as possible in parallel to PL6 fabrication, validation and testing. A hostile TO could take months and every month puts the Infineon with closer to completion. It's certainly something to present to shareholders as a reason not to accept any offer.

It would explain the rushed nature of the botched cap raising. They would have needed to have the cash to place the work order with Infineon and these companies don't work without knowing the cash is in hand.

Despite DM's f ups I try to ignore it as it serves no purpose now. This is Ting's baby, I know he is in constant communication with imec and travels to Belgium quite a bit. I hope his 20m oppies become $20m worth
