Time will tell - at least at 20nm (if it works), it will be a novel technology, at the scale the industry demands - then it comes down to how cheaply it can be mass produced at scale, if indeed there is a use-case for it. In terms of getting left behind - absolutly a possibility - but at 20nm, interface switched re-ram, (non-filimentry), there is nothing like it out there. At the very least, I'd expect (if it all works), a bigger fish will just buy it, and put it on the shelf (...or plow billions into it, and make it commercial). Interesting times ahead - where in typical 4ds fashion, anything is possible...
