Usually it takes about at least a decade and massive funds to get a biotech product to market. I don't see any problem with a biotech having shelved some promising research while it puts its limited funds into bringing another product to market. Very few companies can progress multiple products simultaneously. Immuron have a platform technology that may be used as a preventative for a range of infections. They chose to focus on preventing travellers diarrhoea with a product that can be taken orally and sold as a dietary supplement. This approach means a product on market without all the cost, time and risk to get FDA approval. Faster and sensible way to establish the company. They have since been working with US Department of Defence funding to develop product for other gastro bacterial illness.

The older research on preventing flu may be have been promising but would have been more expensive and taken longer to research and bring to market. Especially given the nasal delivery route proposed - this application wouldn't fall into the easier 'dietary supplement' category.

So please explain why the paper you found justifies the doubt you are so keen to spread - in multiple persistent posts. Otherwise the rest of us will just see the paper you are freaking out about as a very exciting insight into what Immuron might be onto re COVID prevention and treatment.
