Time for some smart additions to the board of directors. We’ve currently got three directors in total, one of which is also our CEO. I don’t think we’ve got sufficient depth or breadth there, and such a limited pool runs the risk of ending up with gatekeepers. There needs to be others with broader dealmaking and commercial transactions skills IMO, and by now we should be attracting additional directors with already substantial public profiles as independent non-execs.
We are also totally underweight when it comes to strategic communications, media & investor relations, with nobody on the executive management team having any notable experience in corporate storytelling or stakeholder affairs. Scientists talking to and amongst themselves only gets a biotech so far.
