My understanding is that most politicians rarely speak the truth.
They often claim to support something, when in reality they actually have a secret hidden agenda and a completely different point of view and opinion and desire.
Some politicians are simply two-faced, will tell you that they love you to your face, and then stab you behind your back. These ones have no moral fortitude or character, and are basically just cowards.
Some might call this behavior duplicitous and deceitful, others might say it is lying, and still others say it's simply politics.
If it is politics, then it's politics with turpitude, and is disgraceful.
Just think back on it, how many politicians can you truly trust?
I can only think of one or two, and this current government unfortunately has none.
