@Twjaxon, great thoughts/valid point we don't want anyone to suffer because they are denied a service/device.
From below the code is for BIS, if the insurance companies are onto to it they should not get mixed up between devices and what they are used for.
Maybe some doctors do both and claim both types of tests using appropriate but different codes.
I don't know what code they would claim on but not the BIS one.
The other 99### codes are standard for consultation only and price increases depending on length of consultation. maybe they can only claim for the consultation only, where L-DEX/BIS can claim BIS and consultation if BIS is used as part of the consultation. That could be $250 per test/consult for medicare.
Possibly not a big deal, if further policy changes have this device but something to monitor.
