Assuming the ALP has the support of Brandt and Wilkie, they would still need the support of at least two IND.
And if the Libs win the 3 remaining seats (ahead in 2 and closing ground in the 3rd), the ALP will need the support of all 3 IND. Both Windsor and Katter have said they oppose the mining tax. Given the IND are collectively negotiating, you would think that and the fact they represent regional electorates will force Gillard to agree to kill off the tax in all forms. The Libs have of course promised never to introduce it.
Nothing is certain but common sense says the tax is on its last legs.
