Traders playing on the hype of swine flu are panicking as expected but the fundamental value is still there. IMO the reality is that the swine flu is far less serious than previous pandemics precisely because the antivirals work. These drugs didn't exist back in 1976 or 1918. Initially in Mexico the antivirals weren't widely available but everywhere else Tamiflu or Relenza is the first response and they work. Well, at least Tamiflu works for now, probably not in the next round of H1N1 because of its fundamentally flawed structure. All this means is that the world has had a big scare that reinforces the risk of a pandemic and every government will be up-stocking on antivirals. 60m units pa from GSK won't be nearly enough to meet the demand.
