They are on the journey and will get there eventually.
There might be some method to the madness...In this case it might be that they realise the NI fusion assay is poor and want to replace it.
Therefore, combining testing of the plant to pre-treat with microbes and then pair with an assay to essentially kill 2 birds with one stone....
i could also be totally wrong and they are just testing the variables and tweaking pilot plant for eventual metal production.
