From my understanding they are free options you get as 1 for every 2 shares bought that can be turned into shares by paying .45 before the expiry date. So when the expiry date comes around the shares may be worth eg 2.45 but you only need to pay .45 or they may be worth .001 in which case you could just let them expire no money lost.
