Even if we don't see amazing results in patients at the end of their line the FDA will likely still fasttrack approval because of the safety profile, particularly when combined with other drugs. I think their position would likely be that it is immoral to not use the drug in every possible patient as supportive medicine. Even if there's a 1-5% chance of results if there's 0% chance of harm it's worth every single jab in the arm.
