So, to make it clear how our current smart societies / leaders think:
To approve a treatment that helps people to stay alive longer and / or increase their quality of live one has to demonstrate safety and efficacy in endless trials. To get a weapon to the market that kills more effectively than the previous ones there is no permit needed. If killing at an industrial scale does not need any regulatory approval why does preventing death?
Maybe because it is easier to "extract" money from the health system for a death caused by new treatments than getting compensation from the Putins of this world.
Are we really that smart?
