I don't post often here. But on the point where you state:
This trial is the very first time it's been done. So when Leslie says "We've never seen results like this before" or words to that effect. That is a completely factual statement as they are the first people to do this, and may have nothing to do with observed efficiency.

I would agree that your assertion is a possibility had LC said "We have never seen a study like this" (or words to that effect).

But she didn't.

LC said quite explicitly 'we have never seen results like this'.......that would appear to be results regardless of the type of trial, noting that LC has ever overseen 200, presumably very different trial types.
