Correct. A clinical trial is just that. Designed to maximise collectable data a human clinical trial helps to establish efficacy and toxicity outcomes without lethal effect. Variation of dosage to achieve optimum outcome is normal. The optimum adaptive dosage response achievable is then plotted to produce a design that can hopefully then be commercially replicated. My opinion only of course!
