I think we will find that this conference, like most, would have been a long time in the planning.
In my experience, there is a strict timeline in place, where first the abstracts must be submitted, then, at a later date, the 'paper'.

However ... most medical/science based conferences hold several 'spots', that they refer to as 'late-breaking'.
This is obviously because cutting-edge science is just that, and the 'variables' are doing just that.

Clearly we are a late-breaking admission, which I see as very positive. We have 'something' that the organisers are very keen for
the group to see/hear.
We are speaking directly to specialists in this field ... some say 'experts', but I don't like the term personally. I am always introduced
as a specialist ... because I specialise in 'X'.

This is further excellent exposure... to the key people working in the GI field.
I would love to know who will get the speaking spot. Time will tell.

All very positive to me.
