Thanks for posting the link to back up that point. If you were in the industry in the 90s you would remember fondly their belief that their core networking products and proprietary protocols would prosper forever. After all, "nobody ever got fired for buying Cisco" (to paraphrase the IBM adage). Then lower cost, open protocol equipment started eating into their market share and a panicked diversification ran began resulting in this list. Wonder how many of these ended up being revenue positive for Cisco.
