I agree this is positive. This is no different to what any Government does from time to time. Look at what the Qld state Gov did to coal royalties to put this into perspective.
The fact that they have engaged with gold producers and agreed a modest rise as opposed to just imposing a big lift out of the blue is very encouraging.
