Not that I have issues with trading but for BHP you need at least 500 shares ($20,000) and a $1 rise (eg $41.02 -- $42.02) to make $500. Take off Brokerage and CGT and you are left with around $350. It can be done but not in a day. I guess if you don't use stop losses and get locked in you can grab a dividend or two and put them aside!! That's a plus about BHP.
