I don't think anyone could question your healthy scepticism jamwolf. Probably a smart way to be :)

On the other hand, would seem pretty obvious that any research company would quickly lose its reputation if it simply gave bullish commentary on stocks it received fees from. I've observed a number of useful independent researchers who take commissions and don't have an issue if i know the team who are doing the research. Strachan is solid imho allbeit doesn't always get it right and sometimes you have to wait longer than expected. Always points out the underlying risks too, which I appreciate.
