IMO by stringing it out thus far they've got themselves 51% of the global royalties excluding Australia and also have a break fee organised for the punters of Punt road. The punters don't make much money but the Indian giants make dollars and being Government entities seem like they'll be in business as long as the Government exists. String this thing out even further and the Indians can do some clever things to bamboozle and smash the company and perhaps end up with the whole thing.
All just IMO.
