@woollydog, am much in the same boat as you. It’s a relief to see the SP closing on our average cost price, BUT, I won’t breathe a sigh of relief until it does.
When it does, I will have to decide if I want to remain being a holder or part ways.
I am in a number of LICs that have been severely underwater, but I could see their change in strategy and / or kept the faith, bought more and am now happy. bought SEC at $1.29 and CDM at 58 cents. Also bought LSF at $1.45 and Bought WIC at 65c. I could see that the NTA was way above the SP, or in the case of CDM, they had changed strategy and the quality of their portfolio. I dont know if Steve and FOR are that transparent with their long term plans or if the 100% return for the last year was merely opportunistic and being in the right place and stocks at the right time. But will the returns revert to the norm when the economy settles down ? Being in FOR is like living with a gambler... you always hear about the big wins, but seldom of the losses which drags the SP and the NTA down. Stand to be corrected And would appreciate your opinion, BUT I think you have made your feelings quite clear above !
