In late 2020, the Volkswagen Group announced a commitment to responsible procurement of battery raw materials and recently said “in order to reach [the goals set in the Paris Agreement], the Volkswagen Group pursues the objective of continuously avoiding or reducing greenhouse gas
emissions over the entire life cycle of a vehicle.”
Another mention of VW. It doesn't get any more obvious, the deal is coming! This LCA was probably a condition precedent to them signing to ensure they are reducing greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of their vehicles.
