Hmm, I wonder why they chose these two specifically to gauge their impact? First, why these large numbers? 2.9t per EV is a very nice and concise statement. Why make it Millions instead? No idea. But coming back to the topic, why choose Tesla M3P and VW ID4?

The M3 is a large volume selling car, but why the performance version? Interesting. M3 is not going to be produced in europe any time soon. So the M3 would likely not benefit from Talnode-C. The Model Y on the other hand starts production soonish. By the time Talnode-C is available in quantity, the M3 might be available in Berlin, but I doubt it. Much more likely they will produce a smaller hatch back for the European market. Maybe it was tested by Tesla in the M3, to gauge its performance but Tesla may have other plans. I am sure there is some sort of back story to that choice. We will see. I am still sceptical Talga will produce for Tesla from the get go. Eventually yes, but I would think its not one of the first customers. Would be happy to be wrong on this one.

And why ID4? It should be glaringly obvious by now that Talga is in very advanced talks with VW and NV. I would even bet a self made ice cream cone that the increase in coating CapEx in the DFS is due to negotiations with Northvolt and VW. Fingers crossed an announcement to this effect will come soon. Cant wait for the fireworks

NV close to home, VW just a trip on the train away.

A deal with NV was what I speculated ever since I have invested a year ago, today's announcement definitely goes along with Northvolt approach to raw materials.
It reminds me how much the Raw Material supplier from NV emphasised that point a few months ago during the webinar where MT and LKAB were invited too.
