It says they were overly optimistic due to the results they have been getting and the feedback has been supportive from industry players.
It says they can see the tech as groundbreaking and have been caught out by the real world after winning the legal case. Perhaps expecting to have the industry knocking on the door.
It says they are human and overestimated themselves and industry's abilities or their wish to pivot. They have underestimated the time and money it would take to get a deal and thought one was imminent.
It says, they are just like us. Except...
It says they forgot where the funding has been coming from and why. Unlike us.
