Given QAN has admitted 'delivery delays' at Boeing, CEO Alan Joyce's promise of 'a new aircraft every three weeks for three years' is already looking shaky.
Much of the media release (in typical QAN style) is rehashing previous announcements.
'Neighbour-free seating being extended to international routes' is a joke when in many cases, QAN's fares are already sky-high compared to rivals. One would certainly pay for any such priviliege.
I remain of the view that all domestic airlines in Oz will be adversely affected by the looming recession. It doesn't pass the pub test that we'd all individually continue to prioritise spending on travel "for ever" if electricity, gas, water, telecommunications bills keep rising, supermarket prices and perhaps rents likewise, and definitely mortgage costs or for investors, land tax costs, the latter levied by the likes of socialist Daniel Andrews in Victoria.
