It’d be interesting to see IFN and 14D do a feasibility study for a 40/200/1000 MWh Thermal Energy Storage System - (TESS-GRID for firming the grid) - has the advantages over a battery of a having a longer useful life (20 to 30 years compared to 10 years is my understanding for a battery). 14D’s tech is still in the commercial demonstration phase though so I don’t know how likely it is but it’s an interesting idea.
