“Get back in your box” is what they’re saying. Nothing tepid about it - this is exactly the response the opportunistic bid deserved. Now UAC has to go back and sharpen their pencil to win the support of IFN’s board and shareholders (in particular the Children’s Fund).

Note that UAC hasn’t said $0.80 per share is their final offer. It is open to them to increase their offer - and I dare say they will. I doubt they are naïve enough to think they were getting IFN for $0.80 per share - they probably expect to pay more and just wanted to get a foothold on the register which they’ve now done (and also average down their takeover price). I expect them to increase their offer price in due course to try win the support of the Children’s Fund and the Board.
