The more I read around AI and the infrastructure required to run it amazes me how well positioned Infratil is yet again.

It seems every fund managed is screaming buy telecommunication infrastrucutre, buy data centres etc but not so much those "disruptive tech stock." I think majority of people have come to the realisation the R&D will come from the big US tech gaints purely because they have the funding.

Which leads me to Console Connect, I wish those regulatory approvals would hurry up hahaha! But I've always wanted IFT to get into the subsea cable business and now they have at absurdly low multiples compared to listed peers. I think in due course we will see a huge demand for subsea cables from global pension funds similar to the telecom towers in COVID. I do believe this will be another large source of value for shareholders.

I must also admit, I thought Infratil would have received another takeover offer with almost every asset we hold being in signifcant demand, if not the leading business in its sector.

Then again, the cost of capital has skyrocketed so maybe one could expect corporate interest when it begins to fall?

    Just my thoughts
