yes, if I had a scan that showed I was riddled with tumours, I would want some radioactive bombs to blast them away with pinpoint accuracy, and I wouldn’t mind if the price to pay was isolating myself from others until the radioactivity in my body exhausted itself.

But if I was having a diagnostic test to see if I had prostate cancer on the off chance, I might balk at being told I had to lock myself away from others for a couple of days…hopefully, that isn’t the case and that the diagnostic level of radioactivity is so low as not to be a bother…

apparently only half the eligible women have mammograms presumably because lots of the decliners don’t want to have their breasts squeezed in the sandwich press machine!

perhaps men are even less conscientious about having inconvenient diagnostic tests.
