You definitely need a good local lawyer whatever country you are in. It is no slight on Brazil that AVB hired a good lawyer, it is merely demonstrating a suitable abundance of caution.
You have to be properly tuned in to the relevant statutes and related case law. Even the interpretation of similar laws that evolved over time in UK, USA and Australia, despite our common legal underpinnings are different, especially as regards contract and mining laws - never mind how the laws of contract and mining codes and related legislation have evolved, and presently sit, in Brazil.
They don't appear to be a shareholder-mining team, but a company getting set to mine the resource, which we seem to have in abundance. Still, we will need to capital to proceed and it remains to be revealed if that is the iron-ore cash, mining some DSO, CR or all three.
