with the mini crash, you have shell shocked punters, who sit on the fence until a sense that it is safe to put their heads out of the trenches. Until then, you have thin trades, and waiting for the market to return to a sense of confidence. What sets the price in a crash ? Fear and desperation. Sell it for whatever. So many specs are 50% discounted. Because at the same time, the only buyers were taking legs lower. What sets the price normally ? a staircase climb from buyers looking at fundamental reasons to invest in the sector, and sellers taking profits. / and the growth out look for the company. Without the over supply of nervous nellies, a normal supply / demand of a stock can redeem itself. Markets are about confidence in what the other guy will do tomorrow / aside from expectations of the company fundamentals.
