    people like Leslie would have a ridiculously high percentage of their net tangible worth tied up in the company, never mind her ongoing employment. I’m not sure why people expect she should be even more invested in the company. What would they recommend? 90%, 95%?

    I think the better measure is looking at board turnover - if you are seeing people join and then leave suddenly then you have a problem as that’s an indication of a governance or some other underlying problem.. They way the executive team and board are going to make money is by driving up the share price, once they deliver results the market can interpret and price. (Which in this current risk-off climate is likely to be a licensing agreement unfortunately)

    if you really want a scapegoat for the share price, look at the shareholders and market not the board. The monetisation will come in due time when the BP entities are ready, not when the retail investors feel they’d like it. All it takes is one BP to blink and it’ll be on.
