Retail investors can and do purchase share in 1AE (eg You and I). ETFs attract money from investors who prefer not to invest in individual shares directly but prefer a much broader sector exposure managed by investment professionals. ETFs attract considerable monies and when they invest them into their share portfolio they generate significant trading volume and move the respective share prices. While retail investors do generate trading volume, the consistent volume from ETFs and large institutions are more significant and hence generate larger movements in the share price. 1AE's turn will come and it will be magnificent.
