Haranga Resources is eyeing a uranium resource upgrade at Saraya

• RC drilling returns shallow, uranium mineralisation at Saraya
• pXRF analysis shows widths and concentrations that are consistent with Haranga’s mineralisation model

Special Report: Initial reverse circulation drilling has provided Haranga Resources with enough early proof that an upgrade to the existing uranium resource at its Saraya project in Senegal is likely.

Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR) has been busy using termite mound sampling as a quick and cost-effective method of defining uranium targets within the Saraya project area.

This has allowed the company to define multiple anomalies for further testing using auger drilling.

RC drilling to produce confirmation data for the resource estimate upgrade started last December and was completed in February following a brief pause for the end-of-year break.

This included eight holes at the Saraya prospect and one at the Diobi prospect. The company is looking to undertake further drilling at Saraya.

Saraya currently has a resource of 12.4Mt @ 587ppm eU3O8 for 16.1Mlbs of contained U3O8.

Mineralisation remains open along strike

HAR has now processed all samples from the RC drilling using pXRF to determine anomalism.

This work, which is not intended to be used as a replacement for laboratory testing, returned top hits of 29m @ 903ppm eU3O8 from a down-hole depth of 92m, 39m @ 354ppm eU3O8 from 29m and 13m @ 672ppm eU3O8 from 80m.

All samples displaying anomalism for uranium will be sent to ALS Laboratories in Canada for assaying to produce a reliable indicator of the final uranium concentration.

“The first results from the RC drilling are indicating the continuation of the uranium mineralisation at Saraya,” HAR managing director Peter Batten said.

“The first eight holes have returned significant widths and concentrations that are consistent with the model and the mineral resource estimation published in October 2023.

“We are hopeful the RC drilling at Mandankoly and Sanela will produce indications of the potential beneath the laterite cover within the anomalies identified from the auger drilling.”

Road ahead

The rig has now moved to test auger soil anomalies at Mandankoly and Sanela before it returns to Saraya for further drilling.

HAR is also continuing termite mound sampling and regional sampling – both of which are expected to be completed in Q2 – with auger drilling continuing on those anomalies.
