would have been quite useful if further information was provided but doesn't surprise me that it hasn't! (hello Hexima!).

from what I gather R&D have been concentrating on an anti-fungal product for some time. the patent they are challenging .."...relates to methods of using various antifungal compounds, including efinaconazole, for treatment of onychomycosis".

therefore IMO they are at a stage now where to proceed further with the R&D they require to "follow" some part of the patent they are challenging. If the challenge fails then it could be back to the drawing board after expending time/money on the R&D to get to their current stage. this may create cost overruns and more importantly time delays to the timeline for any finalisation and commercialisation of the product (wonder if KPI's will be impacted for bonuses). And lets face it time delays are not a good look and given the expected reduced Eli royalties - time delays can prove costly.

Will be interesting to see if their challenge succeeds or not but as per above post this challenge process is far cheaper than going through a full blown court challenge.

an unsuccessful challenge - well who knows what that will result in - but could include time delays, costs increasing, maybe even the "dropping" of that particular pipeline project.

i don't know what the prior success factor of these types of challenges are but that would be interesting to know.

anti fungals have been mentioned in prior year investor presentations so was actually hoping that they would have progressed a lot further at this point in time.

anyhow need a win somewhere and hope that we get one but also hope that any success in the challenge does not result in the payment of bonuses - just don't know whether a victory here is factored into the KPI's!!!

hopefully other different pipeline projects are still being worked on!
