These guys are as slippery as they get.
For those that believe in the fast track approach to the exclusion of all else then this is a good result. With hindsight I think it’s easy to suggest that approvals and less haste would have given them access to cheaper Aussie debt and kept the share register significantly smaller. The SOP wasn’t going anywhere and the approvals wouldn’t have been beyond 18 months.
The good news (if you can believe it) is they now have access to credit, can finish the project and hopefully not F up the sector for everyone else.
