An indigenous person in remote NT has to transport their stool sample from home via car/bus/walking whilst ensuring it does not reach ambient temperature in the 30’s - which ruins the poo test. Not always an easy task. Even once the sample is transported it’s then necessary to forward it in a method that doesn’t attract hot temperatures. The local post box in the sun isn’t looking good.
Perhaps for these reasons, or other, the Nat Bowel Screening rate for indigenous folk is extremely low (in the 20’s as a %)

A blood draw by comparison… well this already occurs routinely as indigenous people are susceptible to diabetes - and the participation rate is relatively high it seems (~ 70%).

It is therefore conceivable that a blood-based test could dovetail in a much neater way and assist significantly more people.
