Not sure if $25/ct was the valuation for the lot that was stolen, rather than a base price per carat that was agreed upon when they insured their rubies. They probably get $25/ct no matter what grade of rock was stolen.
Probably a stunt by the company to get some junk stolen and get a nice fall back payout for it.
